Zap-HybridomaTM is a hybridoma cell culture media supplement created to improve hybridoma growth and productivity. A 10ml (100x solution) vial of Zap-Hybridoma is recommended for use in 1 liter of media. Zap-Hybridoma can replace fetal bovine serum (FBS) in many applications without a decrease in productivity, and it accelerates or eliminates adaptation to new media. Cell doublings are faster when Zap-Hybridoma is used, increasing culture productivity and accelerating culture scale-up. Zap- Hybridoma is IgG-free, simplifying purification of protein products.

Figure 1: Cells grew to higher density in commercial media when supplemented with Zap-Hybridoma. Similar growth kinetics were observed with other leading commercial media when they were supplemented with Zap-Hybridoma.
Figure 2: Shown is the viable cell density of Sp2/0 Hybridoma culture on day 4 following withdrawal from media supplemented with 10% FBS. After adaptation to media supplemented with 10% FBS, cells were washed and transferred to leading CD media at 0.045 x106 cells/mL with Zap-Hybridoma, 10% FBS, or no supplement.
