Zap-CHO
™ is a powerful chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell culture media supplement created to improve CHO growth and productivity. Zap-CHO is animal-free and defined, making it regulatory-friendly and an ideal replacement for hydrolysates. Zap-CHO can replace fetal bovine serum (FBS) in many applications without a decrease in productivity. In biomanufacturing, Zap-CHO can reduce operating costs and capital investment.

Advantages:

  • Consistent & defined, unlike hydrolysates or FBS
  • Animal-free, regulatory friendly
  • Delivers growth and productivity similar to FBS
  • Replaces FBS in cell line development and seed train expansion
  • Benefits shown in many types of media, including:
    » Classical
    » Serum-free
    » Animal-free
    » Chemically-defined
  • Reduces operating costs and capital investment

ZAP-CHO-1

Figure 1.Cells grew to higher density and survived longer in commercial media when supplemented with Zap-CHO. Similar growth kinetics were seen with other leading commercial medias supplemented with Zap-CHO.

ZAP-CHO-2

Figure 2. Increase in productivity of CHO cells grown in 5 leading commercial medias (A-E) supplemented with Zap-CHO and 10% FBS. Zap-CHO supplemented media gave higher productivity than 10% FBS in all cases. (Commercial Media normalized to 100)
