When paired with an optimized base media designed for serum free growth, such as DMEM-F12, Zap-Hybridoma provides a cost-effective, serum-free hybridoma cell culture.

Zap-Hybridoma is a cell culture media supplement designed to enable cost-effective, serum free antibody production. Zap-Hybridoma can replace fetal bovine serum (FBS) when used with DMEM-F12. Use of Zap-Hybridoma as a cell culture supplement paired with DMEM-F12 is less expensive than both serum containing culture and commercially available serum-free media.

Zap-Hybridoma is an animal-free, recombinant cell culture media supplement that is defined and consistent from lot-to-lot. Zap-Hybridoma is also bovine IgG-free. This eliminates IgG contamination and leads to improved quality of the final antibody because there is no contamination with bovine IgG resulting from the use of serum.. In some cases low IgG serum is used to address this issue, but low IgG serum adds significant expense and is not completely IgG free. Use of low IgG serum can double the cost of cell culture media.
