Albumin-DX (Recombinant Human Albumin, Diagnostic grade)
Immunoglobulin-free, Animal-free, Chemically Defined
Product Number: 777HSA026
Product form: Powder
Storage Conditions: -20º C, tightly sealed.
Introduction
Albumin-DX is a recombinant human albumin that is produced from an animal-free expression and production system. Albumin-DX is specially produced for diagnostic and technical applications. Albumin is commonly used for stabilizing proteins and analytes. The advantages of Albumin-DX over other agents include consistency, being chemically defined and immunoglobulin-free, and an improved safety profile compared to animal-derived protein.
Applications
Albumin is used as a blocking agent to reduce the binding of analytes to surfaces. It can also be used to prevent non-specific binding in applications such as ELISA and RIA. Albumin-DX is not suitable for cell culture or therapeutic use.
Instructions for use
Prepare liquid stocks by dissolving in water, mixing or inverting gently to reduce the formation of bubbles. For applications requiring a sterile solution, filter stock though a 0.2 µm filter. Store liquid stocks at 4-8º C. Albumin DX powder contains a small amount of NaCl to aid in the solubility into water. A 20 % (w/v) solution of Albumin DX in water will contain approximately 50 mM NaCl.
