Product Description

ITSE Animal-Free is a recombinant insulin and transferrin cell culture media supplement that is made in the USA and is animal component free; formulated with selenium and ethanolamine for improved serum reduced or serum free cell growth.

ITSE Animal-Free is unique because it uses recombinant technology which allows for consistent results. It provides all these benefits and is more cost-effective than traditional insulin and transferrin supplements.

What customers are saying about ITSE Animal-Free:

“InVitria’s ITSE Animal-Free works well, and better than our alternative product from another supplier.”

Senior Cell Culture Scientist, Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research

Insulin, transferrin, selenium and ethanolamine are typically required for optimal cell growth in serum-free media. Ethanolamine is a phospholipid precursor that improves the performance of cells in serum-free media and is required for the growth of some cell types. Insulin has cell signaling functions and promotes the uptake of glucose and amino acids. Transferrin is a universal source of iron for cells that is non-toxic carrier of iron and reduces the generation of toxic free-radicals and peroxide. Selenium is required for the activity of glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase, and other antioxidant enzymes.
